Magnet Cove, Arkansas

Magnet Cove, Arkansas has one school and a very small gas station, but it's world famous!  Rock hounds and geologists from all over the world have driven the locals crazy for years, pulling off the sides of the roads and picking up rocks!

There are 120+ minerals here, more than anywhere else in the world.   The school teachers told us that we were in the center of a dead volcano and the Ouachita Mountains surrounding our little community were the ridges of the crater.  If you're one of those crazy rock hounds you're likely to dig up catapleiite, clinopyroxene, crandallite and those are just the "C"'s.

Robert D. Parker the owner of Magnet Cove Stone Company would like to invite you to email  or contact him at 1-501-844-1727, so he can tell you about the fluorite, elpidite, labuntsouit, lourenswalsite, and lorenzenite.  He may not be able to pronounce them, but he knows where to find them.

Mr. Parker was raised in Magnet Cove and is fortunate to have the privileges to land and areas the general public cannot enter.  Using and intermediary such as Mr. Parker offers a certain amount of security to the landowners.

The Magnet Cove community is gracious and welcoming to visiting tourists  and newcomers. If you love minerals, geology, and beautiful county, you'll fall in love with our little corner of the world!  Please feel free to contact Mr. Parker with any questions and let him give you details on what Magnet Cove has to offer you in the world of minerals.
